What is Reiki
“Reiki” (ray-key) is Japanese for ‘Universal Life Energy’ and is used to describe the system of natural healing. This tradition was founded by ‘Mikao Usui’ in the early 20th century.
This ancient method of Japanese healing, uses energy to balance the body and mind. Reiki is believed to improve just about any aspect of life from physical health to emotional wellbeing to stress reduction and mental clarity.
Reiki can help with emotional distress, increase recovery times from surgery or long term illnesses, it can also help on a physical level for things such as arthritis, migraines, insomnia, sciatica and many more.
What’s involved in a Reiki Treatment?
The recipient (you) remains clothed and lies on a couch or sits on a chair and relaxes. The practitioner gently places their hands in a series of positions either on or near the body depending on the recipients preference. The whole body is treated rather than specific areas, Reiki practitioners are not trained in diagnosis so you would need to see a doctor if your concerned about any symptoms.
What does the Treatment feel like?
Everybody experiences Reiki differently and depending on your individual requirements at the time. You may feel a warm or tingling sensation and some people may see colours, generally it is calm and relaxing for the patient.
Who can have Reiki?
Reiki is suitable for Adults, Children and Animals.
How much Reiki will I require?
The number of treatments required varies from person to person as some may find a single treatment is sufficient whereas others may benefit from a series of sessions.
